John Moritz Library @ NMC: Writing Support

Updated APA

As of Fall 2020, Nebraska Methodist College uses the 7th Edition of the American Psychological Association's publication manual.

Due to limited availability in the library and frequent usage, it is highly recommended that students purchase their own manual (Amazon, campus bookstore, Barnes & Noble, etc.). The ebook version is also available from APA's store.

Graduate Writing Support Coaches

NMC offers writing coach services to our graduate doctoral and master's students. Coaches are more than proofreaders; they help with all stages of your writing process. They help with drafting: designing and developing a clear objective, organizing and presenting research in the literature review, considering expectations for methodology and findings, organizing discussion material, and presenting conclusions. The coach can also offer revision suggestions that focus on clarity of the message, appropriateness of the format or structure, or even improvement of aspects of paraphrasing and summarizing existing research. One of our coaches provides direct support for very specific questions and proofing you may need for your APA-related questions.

Doctoral Program Coach

Dr. L is excited to work with NMC graduate students as they develop their academic and professional writing.

He works as an adjunct instructor of English at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Nebraska Methodist College, College of Saint Mary, and as a writing center consultant at Metropolitan Community College. In addition, he is the Managing Editor for the internationally peer-reviewed Journal of Latino/Latin American Studies.  Frankie is excited to work with you and help you produce your best writing at the MSN graduate level!
