Patient Education and Evidence Based Resources

Hartford Foundation Institute for Geriatric Nursing

The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN)seeks to shape the quality of health care older Americans receive by promoting the highest level of geriatric competence in all nurses.

The Nurses Improving Care for HealthSystem Elders (NICHE) program promotes excellence in patient-centered geriatric care by providing resources and mentorship to acute care nurses.

The HIGN e-Learning Center contains tools and resources designed to improve the care given to older adults in home and clinical settings. New users will need to sign up for a free account to access the HIGN e-Learning content.

 

Continuing Education

American Journal of Nursing CE -- Resources and continuing education for the care of older adults. Many of these resources are free, but some of the CE courses are fee based. You may need to register for a free account to access the resources.
