Collaboration & Instruction

The library can enhance your course through library instruction and customized LibGuides or course pages. We also encourage you to contact library@methodistcollege.edu or call (402) 354-7251 regarding upcoming assignments, so we can better assist your students.

Course Reserves

Instructors may place books, articles, or other materials that are assigned reading on reserve. All reserves are searchable in the library catalog by instructor's last name or course number. 

  • Labels and barcodes will be affixed to each items, including personal items
  • Personal items will be returned to you at the end of each semester
  • Items are for Library Use Only and placed behind the circulation desk

Items that may be placed on reserve:

  • Books or chapters
  • DVDs
  • CDs
  • Photocopies (if copyright or fair use compliant)

Instructors may select a loan period from the following:

  • Hourly
  • 1 day
  • 3 days
  • 1 week

Contact the library to set-up course reserve and allow a minimum of 2 business days for library staff to process and file them.

Equipment Checkout

Laptops, LCD projectors, clickers, web cams, and conference phones are available for checkout.  To checkout equipment:

  • Complete and submit the Equipment Booking Form
  • Book as soon as you know when you will need it and at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Call (402) 354-7251 or come to the library if you did not book in advance. We will try to accommodate last minute request, but we cannot guarantee availability.
  • Equipment may be picked up at the library during regular hours. If you need to use equipment outside library hours, you must book in advance and Security will retrieve or return the items to the library.
  • Equipment is available on a first come/first serve basis.

Please return equipment promptly.  If you are unable to return equipment at its due time, please contact library staff ASAP, so we can look into reservations to either extend your loan period or make alternate arrangements.
